TO THE QUALIFIED ELECTORS OF ANN ARBOR CHARTER TOWNSHIP: Notice is hereby given that a primary election will be held in Ann Arbor Charter Township on Tuesday, August 4, 2026. The polls will be open from 7:00 am to 8:00 pm at the following location: Solid Rock Church, 3823 N. Dixboro Rd, Ann Arbor, MI 48105 Primary Election is for the purpose of nominating candidates for the Democratic Party and the Republican Party for the following partisan offices: Governor, U.S. Senator, Representative in Congress 6th District, State Senator 14th, 15th District, Representative in State Legislature 23rd ,47th ,48th District, Township Clerk, as well as Delegates to County Conventions. Please take notice that Ann Arbor Township will also be voting on the following three millage proposals: Ann Arbor Charter Township: Proposal to Replace Ann Arbor Township Public Safety Millage to Previously Authorized 3.98 mills. Public Schools of the City of Ann Arbor: Building and Site Sinking Fund Millage Renewal Proposal. This proposal will renew the authority last approved by the electors in 2017 and expires with 2026 tax levy. Washtenaw Community College: Operating Millage Renewal Proposal. This proposal will permit the College to continue to levy up to 0.85 mill that was previously approved by electors to fund operations for 10 years. PUBLIC NOTICE OF VOTING MACHINE ACCURACY TESTING
The public accuracy test of Ann Arbor Township’s Hart InterCivic Verity Scan voting tabulators to be used at the upcoming August 4, 2026, Primary Election will be conducted on Tuesday, July 14 at 10:00 am at the Ann Arbor Charter Township Hall, 3792 Pontiac Trail, Ann Arbor, MI 48015. This accuracy test will validate the programs and equipment to be used to process ballots for the election. The Verity Touch Writer voter assistance terminal will also be available for use. Open to the public.
NOTICE OF REGISTRATION FOR THE ELECTION TO BE HELD ON TUESDAY, AUGUST 4, 2026 ANN ARBOR CHARTER TOWNSHIP, MICHIGAN
TO THE QUALIFIED ELECTORS OF ANN ARBOR CHARTER TOWNSHIP: PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that any qualified elector of Ann Arbor Charter Township in the state of Michigan who is not already registered, may register to vote at the office of the Township Clerk, the office of the County Clerk, a Secretary of State branch office, or any other designated state agency. Voters with a MI driver’s license or ID card may register online mi.gov/vote. Registration forms can be obtained at mi.gov/vote and mailed to the Township Clerk. Voters who are already registered may update their registration at www.expressSOS.com. The last day to register in any manner other than in-person with the local clerk is Monday, July 20, 2026. 1st reading of ordinance amendments to Chapter 26, Environment, Article VII. Soil Erosion and Sedimentation Control
On June 15, 2026 the Ann Arbor Charter Township Board of Trustees approved the 1st reading of ordinance amendments to Chapter 26, Environment, Article VII. Soil Erosion and Sedimentation Control, the purpose of which is to achieve effective and reasonable control of accelerated soil erosion to protect the waters of the state and Township and to protect properties adjacent to any earth change. The amendments clarify general provisions including Importing and Movement of Soil, Sand, Clay, Gravel or Other Materials, and Excavations. The Township Board will hold a second reading of this ordinance amendment at their regularly scheduled meeting on August 17 at 7:00 pm. Board of Trustees Public Hearing
The Ann Arbor Township Board will hold a public hearing to receive public input to consider two variance requests on premises zoned A-1, General Agriculture, from the requirements of Sec. 50-28, Parcels of land exempted from this article; permit requirements of Chapter 50, Article II, Private Roads. The variance requests involve four parcels, including the following parcels abutting Warren Rd. and Earhart Rd.: I-09-02-400-009, I-09-02-400-008, I-09-02-400-003 and I-09-02-400-011. The applicant is seeking a variance from the requirement that a shared driveway can only be used when the driveway is to serve no more than two single-family dwelling units. The proposal will use a shared driveway to access up to four lots. The applicant is also seeking a variance from the requirement that a shared driveway can only serve properties that do not adjoin a public road. Parcel I-09-02-400-003 and -011 both adjoin Earhart Rd., and I-09-02-400-009 adjoins Warren Rd. The public hearing will be held on Monday June 15 at 7:00 p.m. at Township Hall, 3792 Pontiac Trail, Ann Arbor, MI 48105 and also via video conference call.
